Saving Pixie for the first time on n-computing machines.
Select SAVE AS under File.
Expand the window by clicking on the "upside down triangle in the circle" next to the place where you name the project.
This is the expanded window that you will see.
Choose the Desktop folder under the K drive. You cannot initially save to the K drive.
Now choose save on the bottom right side of the “save picture as” window.
Now choose save on the bottom right side of the “save picture as” window.
The project will be saved in a folder called Desktop that is located in the K:drive, aka ...your class folder.
To find student work under a student log in, go to "My Computer" and look in the K: drive.
To find student work from a teacher log in, go to My Computer and look in the L: drive. Open your class folder.
Note- These drives can only be seen if the "workstation only" box is unchecked upon log in to Novell.

Some problems I've encountered with Pixie include:
ReplyDelete1)Kids turn off the internet by accident and are unable to save or access their work.
2)Students click on their work and it won't open becuase another student has it open on their computer...look at the tabs on the bottom of the Pixie screen on other students computers to find out where it is open.
