Sometimes the HP battery check indicates that the battery is good but the laptop doesn't stay powered long.
More testing might include the following:
1)try out a known good battery and see if it solves the issue
, 2)test to see if the laptop turns off when it's plugged in, 3) record what the battery meter is displaying in the Taskbar
Reason for these tests:
To see if there is a problem w the AC adapter overloading the battery
OR
To see if the mother board is going bad and affecting the battery

N-computing STEPS
N-computing Process checklist designed by Dave Becherer. Thnx Dave!
REGISTERING new machines:
Login as Reg__ __ __ and the password
1. Name the Computer
2. RESTART
3. Office 2010 Activation (DO this by starting WORD from the Programs menu)
4. Click on Investigations Fix in the Apps window
5. Do the n-computing v registration from the Programs menu

6. Register ZEN by clicking on the SudentReg in the App window
7. ITAM the computer
* Check the workstations to see if they display properly and check the mice for normal movement.
* Shut down and Install Updates

Note: Ethernet cable limits. 15 feet or less from CPU to switch. 25 feet or less from switch to drop.
Steps to check for software in ITAM
1. Log into ITAM and select the HOME tab on the left.
2. Select Software under Information Analysis on the right hand side.
3. Click on Print My Software under the Software Shortcuts
4. Choose dates if necessary, select the radio button "acquired date", click on the bionoculars
under select your software and narrow the search for the software, summary report, excel and print.
Note- after choosing the print it will take a few minutes and you may have to allow Internet Explorer to the download the file by clicking on the bar that pops up at the top of your browser window.
